On Friday 4th of May, Islay came together to commemorate those who passed away during World War 1: the Ileach soldiers and sailors lost in Europe and on the seas, and the many hundreds who found Islay shores with the sinking of the Tuscania and Otranto.
The gallery below focuses on the Islay community and the descendants of the fallen. All profits from picture sales will go to the WW100 Islay Legacy Fund, which will support projects to ensure the Tuscania and Otranto tragedies, and the sacrifice that Islay and Jura made in World War One are not forgotten. At the bottom of the gallery are details of how to order.
